Course Description:

You will learn how to Upholster a basic boat seat or Cushion. Firstly you will learn how to use an Industrial sewing machine, you will learn how to solve common problems that happen with machines then we move on to patterns, stitches, piping, decorative stitching and loads more.​ You will learn the skills needed to be able to go away and upholster any basic boat seat/rib seat or cushion.

We also cover things such as the different types of foam and materials used in marine environments, cutting and shaping foam, measurements, cutting and sewing fabric for cushions and seat covers and basic installation techniques for attaching upholstery to boat interiors...

Our basic Boat Upholstery course is specifically designed to provide individuals with little to no prior experience in upholstery with basic knowledge and practical skills necessary to start a career, hobby or even your own business in boat upholstery. 

Throughout this course, you will focus on the essential techniques making sure you develop the knowledge and gain the confidence needed to take on any basic boat upholstery projects.

Accommodation is not provided, but there are many B&Bs in the area of the workshop. You can find options on Booking.com and Airbnb. Travelodges and Premier Inns are also available within a 20-minute drive.

Course materials, tea, and coffee are included. You'll need to bring your own lunch, but there are nearby places to buy food.
