Course Description: Come and learn how to make the type of cover you want to make.​ Learn how to use an Industrial sewing machine. Learn how to measure & template,​ how to put windows in, zips & fasteners. Learn about the different fabrics & threads.​ A fantastic course if you want to be able to make all types of cover. We will teach you how to design and construct various types of boat covers and enclosures. Whether you're a boat owner, looking for a job in the marine industry or want to start your own business you'll learn the skills and gain the confidence needed to create functional and visually appealing protective structures for boats. The course covers key topics such as materials and components used in covers, things to think about when designing a cover, measurements and templates, functional design features like ventilation and waterproofing, installation techniques for a secure fit, maintenance and repair strategies, safety guidelines, and branding and personalisation techniques. By the end of the course, you'll have a fantastic understanding of boat cover design and construction, allowing you to create customised and durable covers, enclosures, biminis, and sprayhoods. In fact any type of outdoor cover you want to make. Doing the practical exercises and projects under the guidance of experienced instructors will help you develop your skills and gain confidence. Accommodation is not provided, but there are many campsites, hotels & B&Bs within a 20-minute drive of the workshop. You can find options on Booking.com and Airbnb. Travelodges and Premier Inns are also available within a 20-minute drive. Course materials, tea, and coffee are included. You'll need to bring your own lunch, but there are nearby places to buy food, including a Subway & Greggs, Care and a Supermarket. When you leave the course remember we are still here to support you.
